The only thing with Versace perfumes I noticed is that they can go off if you keep them for very long. It reminds me getting dressed cute and leaving the house during sunset and smelling flowers in the summer air by walking away. The bottle is brand new and I tried it twice. I got this when I was 20, my boyfriend at the time swore Blue Jeans was his favourite scent to wear and I wanted us to match. I'll write a second review sometime soon. Red Jeans was on my want list and boy did I want it. I am happy wearing this perfume. I enjoy it for it's nostalgia, though. It is sweet but buffered by a powdery, woody breeze. The scent feels well blended and soft, feminine and modern. I don't know why these specific memories came to my mind. I had 1 time test Red Jeans edt on my own skin. Safe blind but for any age, any preference. I am almost through my bottle of Versace Red Jeans. It suits the spring time very well. Maybe back in the day it smelled more natural, less synthetic. It opens for me with cherry (not a listed note), rather than peach or apricot, but it is a jammy delight.
My sister however loves it. It's not the same. Love it;girly smell;long lasting;but I only buy it now on internet;it's not avaible in stores. I think perhaps these opinions may have been formed by the cute, red bottle. Both are clear. The longevity is also honestly the worst out of any of the fragrances in my collection - it literally disappears within an hour. This perfume was given to me as a gift. I tried this on today and did not really like itit's ok, but nothing special and I wanted to wear something with a little more personalityso I thought I'll change it when I get to the house, I'll scrub it offran some errandsa couple of hours later I get home, open the cabinet to get a glass for some water and stop.what is that smell? Firstly, I love the packaging! Im delighted by the dry woodsy notes in this combined with the freshness of rose petals. I expected something better something like the male version ( blue jeans) but unfortunately this smells so chemical and annoying. Well, I guess I found ways to use it. It's a little powdery, but not in a smothering way. It's also a very unique and immediately distinguishable scent, which is probably why anybody who remembers the 90's is filled with nostalgia over it. But about an hour later those violets came out to play- it reminded me of these candied violet pastilles my grandma would have. The result of this mixture is almost similar to the original "Pleasures", maybe somewhat stronger-less peppery, but very nice to wear. This synthetic, plastic quality thankfully died away, and I was left with sweet peaches that were on the verge of being spoiled, giving it a boozy quality like Peach Schnapps. Certainly put me off Versace, even if this is one of their cheaper fragrances. The overall impression is bad. Somehow it manages to have balls to the walls crazy intense level sillage and longevity. Still, I can see where a younger woman, who has grown up with lighter, even unisex scents, would find this a stinker. This holds a special place in my heart. I havent worn it out in public since I wouldnt want to offend others, so I cant attest to others complimenting it. Add me to the Versace Red Jeans Lover Club please! So whenever I sniff it, I remember my mom. I don't know how someone is able to smell anything than tropical thick fruit and clean musk. i've been using this perfume since i was a freshman in college (1997). It's very playful. Nothing else.
But I just can't seem to like it. yes but it doesn't smell like the usual peach notes I smell in fragrances and fragranced products. It smells very rosy and kind of smoked. And Im so happy this bottle says Versace and not Versus. Red Jeans Perfume is an american classic.
I'm glad other people like this one. This *is* 1994 to my nose. I always wanted to use it. I loved it back then. Hmm, would I say this is peachy? First time I smell this perfume when my aunty back to the town and she's smell very nice, peachy and flowery. The dry down, hours later, is tolerable with a light peach, powder smell. I like it, it mostly smells like peaches, roses and vanilla. I remember smelling this when it first came out and liking it, but when I got a sample recently that violet exploded in my face and smothered out everything else in this fragrance. I'd rate it an 8 out of 10 on the right occasions and probably a 4 or 5 any other time. Its a little bit sweet and pure smell. I like it. However, after wearing it a few times around the person who bought it for me, I started to really enjoy the scent. This is a 90s classic, but very accessible for the modern nose. It's a nice fragrance; a safe, inoffensive fruity floral, but sadly for me the strength and staying power just isn't there. I gotta say tho Versace has style in design of this perfume bottle& the cute vintage metal tin this bottle comes in so freaking cute!!!! I bought it expecting it to be a good formulation because my partner uses the blue one and I really like it on him. I'm sorry to all the Red Jeans lovers out there. While I smell the fruit, it is equally, if not moreso, met with a harsh floral that overpowers. I smell roses, peaches and something smokey.
I was after inexpensive daily summer scent. Came across with a tester at the mall and spritzed a bit of it. It's nice enough, but nothing special to me anymore. Definitely a classic and not expensive. In Italy this has been re issued last year and can be found on line at a very good price.OK it's not a masterpiece but it smells so good and that's what counts. It's jammy sweet with some freshness and it lasts many hours on the skin. This is perfect for spring and summmer use.Very enjoyable. I'm just not the type who readily finishes a large bottle of perfume, I usually switch my preferences around too often, I guess. I love it. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how old this was this is great for the asking price. it's a fresh scent of peach and roses, perfect for fall. Just got this yesterday, this is youthful yet suitable for any age. Something random made me reach into my frag fridge and spray Versace Red Jeans. I no longer have this in my wardrobe, but it still has a special place in my heart. You smell amazing" etc. For me it's one of the worst frag i've ever tried, you can easily have headache, 100% sugar in sugar, hit in your nose, no excuses. this should be called violet jeans because violets are where the sweetness comes fromthis is mainly a rose and violet scent outside of the initial spray which lasts a good 20 minutesi never get to the base notes of sandalwood, musk, and vanilla it seems to stay at the mid notes for hours until fadei really like this a lot but not too pleased with the first 20 minutes but the dry down is worth it. I love the bottle that delicate floral design that frames the perfume's name is gorgeous. I dont agree with the notes at all to me it smells like a powdery grapefruit scent. They can have it.
This is a fruity-floral, described as sweet and casual, ment for the young and young-at-heart. I sprayed my wrist and ran from room to room telling my sons who also collect cologne and love their Versace blue jeans to smell my arm. Also the tin can it comes in is unique and pretty. Opens with a very sharp and crisp peach and apricot (that I can completely understand being overpowering and headache inducing on some) then mellows out some as the freesia, violet and lily of the valley kick in. I don't even wan't to think of the smell. Two years ago I found Red Jeans on discount so I bought it for old times sake. I am delighted I did. I have been wearing it through out this summer. It is a little synthetic, but that's not always a bad thing. I cannot put up with this perfume. There is a big difference on formulations between the Versace Giver Spa and the Euroitalia (the most recent) .Giver Spa is stunning and well mixed ..I have Euroitalia also but its a bit too metallic fake. My love for this perfume started in the early 2000s as a child. I visited my French college roommate during Christmas in the 90's, and her sweet mother gifted me with Red Jeans. Perfect for a 14-17 year old girl. It was a random combo,,but blew everyone away. Its not sweet, very powdery. For the price it is worth it. Its overwhelming and way too saccharine, I can't smell a thing over that peach, its harsh and cloying. You can get it at cheaper price now and it lasts all day. Perfumes: 73,873 But any women of any age can appreciate the great container and beautiful color of the perfume--the bottle and container are kitchsy, fun, distinctive--real "Yippe ki yo ki yea, m--f--."
It's sweet, musky, flowery(jasmine&freesia), synthetic/plastic smelling, but the overall combination is very nice and you only need one or two sprays. In its day this was the perfect summer holiday/weekend getaway fragrance that was meant for fun! Kudos to them because it almost made me nauseous - I had to scrub it before it got to the drydown- and it made my husband break out in hysterical laughter at how bad it was on me. Its literally revolting. I personally am a spice and sandalwood lover, and for such a feminine smell I am surprised at how much I love this! I love both peachy sweet and sandal notes. I think this is a good layering perfume- wearing it with other fruity floral scents really steps it up a little. The bottle and packaging are beautiful but overall I'm a bit disappointed. The dry down became a softer vanilla tinged floral and the lasting power was excellent. Top notes are Peach, Apricot, Freesia and Black Currant; middle notes are Rose, Violet, Lily-of-the-Valley, Water Lily and Ylang-Ylang; base notes are Musk, Vanilla and Sandalwood. Red Jeans by Versace is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Cloying and harsh, this takes me back to being an adolescent in the worst way possible: it smells like cheap and nasty bodyspray I used to buy for 2 when I was 13.
There are white florals too. I just purchased this one, and this was a blind buy. It was the second fragrance I ever bought with my own money, in 1995. Classic, beautiful fruity floral. Its borderline a pesticide. Definitely not suggested for a 10 year old, but I was sooo intrigued by the red tin and the bottle inside that I HAD to buy it.
But do not think because the volume was turned down that the impact of what was whispered was diminishedit still packs a wallop. There are times when this gives me trouble breathing. I just don't find it interesting enough. it's like first love.. something that i won't forget.. it is sweet and strong and cheap but good enough for the price. Im on a perfume binge, yes Ive fallen off the wagon and seem to be purchasing a bottle every two weeks. This smells like Pretty Woman from the early 90's. I think the addition of freesia and waterlily give the floral notes a beautiful fresh edge. It was flowery and fresh but I think I like Blue Jeans more. The next turns, however, are not that much of a good scent experience. I bought this on a whim and in all honesty, It just smells like generic baby wipes. I saved a little decant of this for a trip down memory lane, but on my skin it's just too screechy to do more than just sniff (not wear). It's strong, but coming from the 90's that was the "in" thing. I can definetly smell rose as a dominant main note with violets on the side. Online right now: 2,911, Fragrantica in your language:
I wish it was softer when first applying aswell as its a bit too in your face. sillage is good and longevity is really goodi can smell this in the morning if i haven't showered before beda good blind choice for me Watch out, headache's coming.
I seem to be getting lucky finding free perfumes lately in London! This one smells like the 90's to me.. Someone wrote that its like fruity shampoo and I agree, but there are other layers in this, too. This is a hard return for me. I honestly don't fully understand the hate this perfume gets! However, for me nothing catchy and special. I had it when I was 16 ys old, and I bought it again now when am 44 :). My mom had purchased me my first bottle as a gift and first time i sprayed and smelled it; i remember finding it very synthetic and kinda smelling like play-doh. I love it,specialy in the spring! Anyway, it just fades away in 10-15 minutes and it starts to develop into a less childish and more subtle, womanly perfume. I picked it up online for less than $20 for the 2.4 ounce. This is a nice safe classic perfume from the 90s. I wanted to do a favour to my friend and bought this (still sealed) bottle from her. Love perfumes with vanilla in them. Will always be in my fragrance collection. Either way I like it. I used to have it when I was in high school. I actually found a bottle of it - someone obviously agreed with my feelings and had left their bottle outside on their fence with a sign that said 'free'. It's not too sweet either which is great. The bottle itself is very cute and vintage looking. The worst offering from Versace. On a side note, bees are very attracted to this fragrance and one spring day I had to make a run to the indoors because I was getting chased by them :), so wear with caution. It is a loud floral that needs a light hand, but I liked it and it worked with my chemistry very well. I dont know what apricots the other users smell , mine smells like cheap spray deodorant. I bought it during my first trip to Italy when I was 10 years old. It is nice and inoffensive but nothing really happens. This is my favourite perfume. Also it keeps my mood better. I had forgotten about this fragrance until a few days ago when I found it at a clearance sale. I couldnt stop sniffing my arm.
Softens and gets a bit better on skin with time but still, it's a clear no for me! I don't know if my mom used to wear it or if it smells like something in Germany or Italy, but it brings up memories of being there. I think I would like this more if the Freesia was a heart note. Three sprays or more gives me a headache. Does the Versus bottle smell like the Versace bottle probably. For some really odd reason - the violet stands out the most to me. Quick review since it's late but I got this as a gift and it smells mostly of dried apricot like you just opened a bag of them. Honestly, I liked it the first time. Basically, it's musky berry jam. First whiff is kids sweet medicine smell then dries down to green tea-ish scent. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it, yet it keeps calling me back like a forgotten friend. I mainly detect a musky fresh rose in the opening notes. Truly did not like this one. I understand that this one is a classictht many of the you lived with it.it was a part of your nostalgiabut come on.im sorry but i despise the scenttoo strong too cloying.something's got to be wrong with this composition..it may be appelaing for those who grew up with this..but for the younger genits another pass from me.psits weird but i like the blue jean though. There are better fragrances with the same vibe, but this one smells just too chemical. Just bought this today! I vividly remember how feminine, and beautiful this smelled on the women in my life. It doesn't smell like a cheap girly odor, I actually find it quite mature and mesmerizing. It brings back such great memories for me, which were all in the 90s living in LA.
I was young and was really excited because of the canister it came with more than the actual perfume. I bought it because of the nostalgia - I had it when I was at the university circa 95-96 and I was excited to know that they produce it again in 2016. i love wearing this to the office, i love the sweet smells and this one meant to be sprayed on office jacket or linen and it will last long and smells better than sprayed on skin. All I smelled throughout the hours I wore it was peach, peach, and rotten peach. It's the only perfume I would keep in my locker at school. Awful . If someone wishes to swap with me, I will be more than happy to do so. This way, it irritates me to the lesser degree. Admittedly it's not the most sophisticated but it has personality and always gets a compliment! Red Jeans by Versace instantly takes me back to my childhood in the '90s, when my aunty would wear this religiously. It is not that I completely dislike it but it was never a favorite of mine; it reminds me of sugary water. Not a massive deal considering it's also a great value fragrance, but I'd love to feel like I don't have to reapply several times a day! Too floral and sharp for my taste. Cheap, but not worth the disappointment. This perfume reminds me summer nights that you walk around in shorts with a tan skin, eat ice cream and meet with yout boyfriend. I still have that (empty) bottle and its tin reads "GIANNI VERSACE - RED JEANS". Its a great everyday fragrance. This perfume is wearable even to the dentist's office, but it still keeps me interested and uplifted. I could not figure out what I was actually smelling. It's acid overpowering pesticide! It is so different smelling.
Sweet rose, peach, apricot---a heavy hairspray note in there that I associate mostly with Versace. FINALLY, a perfume I really love. It's loud and sexy, and i love that this lasts so long on me (most perfumes last just about 2 hours and i can still smell this the day after), fragrant and not boring.
