Fragrantica Inc, United States. After pondering over what you all said, I think that after much hesitation still, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Revealed wins! I did like it, now I don't :( It somehow became too heavy for me. This is an unusual scent.

Red Door Aura is, however, a somewhat sweeter version of the orginal. It doesn't smell like Red Door at all! Red Door is such an appalling scent to me so I was really scared it was going to be something similar, but it's really not. It smells like lady million without the pachuli, and I love that. The Amber in this really brings out that warm feeling and the flowers make this scent very feminine with the right amount of sweetness. it lasts a day on me & mixed with the body lotion it lasts even longer which is fantastic. While I can see some similiarites, I actually find that it has more in common with Badgley Mischka Couture's oily/trampy/yeasty musk than the beautiful clean synthetic pink musk that is so distinctive in NR EDP & Lovely. This smells so much like honey to me. I prefer to wear this as a bedtime scent, after just having a long bubble bath. Once I get through that first initial spray, about 30 minutes later, it's way more better.

Nothing like the original Red Door. It smells kind of like an older fashioned late 80's - early 90's type-of-fragrance.

The packaging is lovely as well. Divine. This one is very nice as it seems to be a "fresher" take on the original, and it really is more modern too. Price was a bit more than I usually pay for perfumes there but I really wanted to try it. it made me feel glamorous when I first wore it. It is quite affordable and smells very expensive with the right chemistry. You have to wait an hour or so for the dry down to be reminded of the Red Door relation. I don't get the similarity to alien at all but it's amazing nonetheless.

It warms me up, makes me feel confident and bold yet feminine and sensual. Sweet and musky. Unfortunately, I refuse to wear perfumes that I associate with past times in my life, so this one has to stay where I left it. I really do not find the same deepness and elegance of the NR! Red Door Aura opens up with fruits and citrus, then the fruitiness lingers as the gentle but bright florals develop. But it dies down to a soft scent in 10 minutes. I truly don't see how Red Door could ever come close to the French art of making perfumes.. .

My mum loves Red Door, but I love Red Door Velvet. As you said, you're more into the lighter scents of today, which convinces me to think that you'd most definitely prefer 'Revealed' over 'True Love'. I'd say that this is a great signature scent as it could be worn in all seasons. I would wear this to work or in the daytime. The name fits it perfectly because it does have a luxurious velvet smell. There is mostly Orange Blossom, Raspberry and Musk that I smell, but the proportion in which it was mixed is very well done. I was very surprised and flattered that she had made it her signature. To me this smells just like Narciso Rodrigues for Her.

I think it is a lovely scent still. Great for someone like me who's young and wants to venture into slightly more mature smelling fragerences without biting off more than they can chew. Beautiful dry down. It's an interesting scent, but unfortunately has zero sillage and longevity on me. Sandalwodd, musk and amber are all in the background making the drydown slightly creamy/spicy. I want to choose just one of the two, unfortunately I can only buy the bottles unsniffed, as they aren't for sale in my country. Personally, I don't think this can compare to the original Red Door. Tried this out on one wrist whilst wearing Very Estee on the other. It's also clean smelling, and it's strong without being too over bearing. This opens very floral fruity, light, and mildly sweet. An elegant one really. 10+ hours on my skin. Aura is feminine and cute, yet very sexy and sensual. I haven't tried this one yet although I'd like to because Red Door is my all time absolute favorite.I have never seen this anywhere to get a sample.I have Red Door Revealed and I like that one alot but this is hard to find! Had a small sample size had to get the big one. It is a lovely scent in its own right. . Because Aura smells like Alien EDP, just not as strong. which I enjoy. If you love the original and all of its variations, you will not be disappointed by this one. I loved the sweet raspberry and orange blossom, with that hint of sandalwood and jasmine dry down. Smells very womanly to me, particularly after it develops on me, becoming warmer, muskier and spicier (although maintains a floral sweetness) making it much more seductive than the initial fresh, flirty fruitiness, so I personally see it as an evening out perfume. For some reason, after a few months of wearing it, the magic went away for me on this one. The raspberry is quickly replaced by jasmine and bergamot on my skin - maybe more jasmine than bergamot. Decent spillage to begin with, at least compared to what I'm used to, and can still be smelt on the skin after 6-8 hours on me. I bought this without smelling it based on some of the reviews and I'm SO glad I did! the raspberry is 'fizzy' to me & the jasmine is almost gentle to my nose. A honey like sweetness. I thought I was in love. I detect a honey note on my skin but it's not listed. It seems more powdery and strong. I was puttering around my gym's washroom one day, and the management had generously supplied this lotion for everyone's use, so of course, I tried it. Perfumes: 73,888 Last year my niece informed me that the only perfume she wore and had worn for years was True Love and that she had fallen in love with it when I gave to her for Christmas. A hint of the original Red Door with a little more spice (cinnamony). I would say Aura is more of a floral with strong sweet and woodsy undertones. Overall a lovely perfume, that will suit colder months and christmas alot. I got a lot of the jasmine and orange blossom, and the dry down smelled sorta musky and ambery. Please help me choose! And the way all that is combined in 'True Love', it's not a very good combination. On me the silage is moderate but present (it seems to warm-up and intensifies with my body heat in warm weather but never cloyinga plus as I don't have to reapply)and longivity is about 6-7 hours ending with a warm woody and a bit soft spicy base. It is evenly balanced between woods/patchouli, musk and a slight sweetness. With that being said, I think I can speak as to whether or not this smells like Alien. When I saw a bottle of Red Door Aura at TJ Maxx for a steal and saw the notes and some of the reviews I was intrigued and had to buy a bottle. I find this fragrance to be a beautiful blend of tea, florals and musk, nothing to offend anyone. It reminds me somewhat of Emporio Armani Lei - but more floral, sweeter, brighter and not quite so strong. This fragrance is delicious on a warm skin. I actually think this is a better version of TM's Alien, because it leaves out the chewiness and brings in the freshness of orange blossom and bergamot. I smell Anise in this or like a tea like scent.

It seems quite oriental, but also combined with powder, some spice, & some light florals. Now, I find myself wanting it back, thinking it might smell different. Velvet is quite smooth and opens with soft floral notes laced with a hint of Earl Grey and then its rounded off with a moderate amount of patchouli and vanilla, but its not too sweet. This reminds me of two scents actually - the original Hot Couture and Amarige D'Amour, almost a love child of the two scents on my chemistry - it is very wearable and I can imagine it working for warm or cooler weather it has quickly become my go to scent for when I cannot decide what to wear. Strong floriental which will not please everyone. This sweet strong wet and long lasting- in warmer weather. Upon first sniff you can tell Aura is in the Red Door product line. This is very soft and powdery. It gives it just a bit more depth, and another branch of fragrance to explore. If you disliked Red Door, I urge you not to dismiss this fragrance. However the guaiac wood, moss and orange blossom notes make me hesitate. The raspberry opening is very prominent - juicy! I totally agree with dmaw. Aura is now one of my favotire florals ! With 4 sprays it was overwhelming in the morning and I felt like everyone could probably smell me - I'm a cubicle worker so I have to worry about too much projection. If you dislike the drydown of Red Door, proceed with caution around this one. I am loving this one soooo much this Fall that I will be getting myself a backup. The new, more modern version is given vibrant citrusy notes that open the composition along with orange blossom. Love it!!!!

I would like to add that Red Door smells fantastic on my sister who is only 23 but my senses won't be able to handle it on myself. I dont find this to be very floral, and I didnt detect any honey at all. Red Door is, and has always been, a big no no for me. I'll try anything once, especially if it relates to perfume. Very nice together. It really does linger and project like a ray of light with all those zesty yet opulent notes.
