Hi Kenneth, yes the ferries do operate all year round, although for the winter timetable the ferries run less frequently and finish earlier, I dont think they will be running after 5pm. You can observe for example the remaining traces of the Roman times still present in the region, such as the famous Roman villa "Grotte di Catullo".

You could get to the North of the lake by bus or ferry but I dont think it would be a good idea if you are only visiting for the day as the traveling time would take too much out of your day. Is that too late and would you advise us to postpone the trip to April?
