Its a method of filter cleaning that works by reversing the flow of water inside the filtration tank. The Filter setting allows normal pool filtration to run the water through whatever filter type you have e.g., sand or DE. Rinse does not clean the filter like backwashing does. The winter setting is less of a setting and more of a parking spot between settings. Sometimes the filter is broken or cant be used for whatever reason. After the water has been through the filtration process, it returns back through the multiport valve before re-entering the pool. but sends the water out the waste port rather than returning it to the pool. Step 3 Step 7 Vacuuming algae to Waste is the safest option. Pools that are stagnant for long periods are a breeding ground for mosquito larvae to infest your pool. If its an open-end, the best practice is to connect a hose to it so you can direct the water to a suitable place. Therefore, we will use the Waste Line as our starting reference point.
