It was very nice to have water, power and sewer hookups and have that openness. Cons: Far away from Jackson and the best sites in the Tetons (Jenny Lake and other nearby lakes). My opinion: It offers much the same activities as the other resorts, but the advantage is its located on the south end of Jackson Lake so its more centrally located. Palisades is close by, as are Jackson Lake, String Lake, Jenny Lake, Hidden Lake, etc. If you dont do this, it will show everything as unavailable. Like the other places on Jackson Lake, its a resort-style experience with fishing, boat rentals, and guided rafting trips. Your options include resorts, lodges, motels, hotels, hostels, Airbnbs, and dude ranches. Teton Valley Motel provides basic lodging for those just looking for a place to sleep at the end of a busy sight-seeing or adventurous day on the river or in the mountains. With so much to do, you will want to stay all summer. This camping spot has water rights, and often through the summer, there is a little stream going through the front of the place. None of the Jackson buzz. If you set up a tent without permission, there will be a minimum $75 fee per night charged to your deposit. It wasn't crowded and quiet. The West Yellowstone entrance is about 90 minutes north of the cabins. There are many trees on the front of the property, but it's not a forest where you camp : ) It's a meadow. Colter Bay Village is located on Jackson Lake and its like a large resort, with boating, swimming (but the shores are rocky; see our packing guide), camping, an RV Park, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and horseback riding. My opinion: Stay here if you like the idea of paying once for a package to take care of everything you need (and can afford it). Explore the different areas below. This is a nice little area and its right by the Snake River. For directions just use the road sign as we couldnt see any brown gates. NO OPEN-top FIREPITS. Dornans isnt technically IN the national park, but its located right in the heart of the park, so I include it here. Wilson is located between Teton Village and Jackson. The outside is English Tudor Style and the inside is rustic Old West. I'm not sure what more you could find for an RV spot in the super busy Tetons. I dont recommend using Yellowstone as a base to see Grand Teton National Park, but if you do, theres really only one place I would recommend: Grant Village. Sometimes people are confused by terms used when discussing this area, so to clarify: Visiting Grand Teton and need a plan? Pros: Western dude ranch experience with incredible views (and relatively affordable). It isnt necessarily gorgeous from the outside, but its incredible on the inside and it has the coolest views of the Tetons!
