It is classy, although I can sense a cigarette smell, sometimes, but not overwhelming or bothering Hopefully, it won't be discontinued. I am no great discerner of perfume notes, but to me theres a dry, straw, almost barley sugar (?) It's become my most worn day-to-day because it's perfect for work - not vampy or overly sexy for my comfort level around colleagues, but not without femininity or personality. I own the version produced a few years ago, so cannot compare to the vintage. It opens with aldehydes and then settles into a gorgeous warm woody scent that envelopes me and has me thinking wow, that's really good. Old but gold! It is also quite unique; in fact I can't think of another perfume that's similar to Dune. I'm not sure if I can pick out exact notes, except for aldehydes, but I'm sure that I don't even want to, since this fragrance is wonderful in its complexity which doesn't need to be ruined by trying to pick the whole thing apart. I have worn it for years and I get " I love when you wear that cologne" each time I wear it . After ten years, I still have that spray bottle, and I tried it again recently after a long break. I think that the manufacturer might be cheaping out on the base notes. The scent of my childhood. I liked it quite a lot at first.

My mom used to wear it when I was a kid, and I took it from her on special occasions as a teenager. With opening notes of benzoin and aldehydes, one can almost sense saline waves breaking into a mist against musky, sun-worn skin. character to the perfume. Hours later, as the sun slips behind the sand, and the notes fade into memory, a hint of amber, vanilla, black patchouli, and the ghost of a single honeysuckle bloom, vetiver(? I absolutely love this fragrance!! Warm, unisex, woody, slightly spicy, with an odd note my nose insists on associating with old fashioned postage stamps or petrol. It was hot and full of sun, it reminded me the smell of desert. Either way, Dune is superb and exceptional. A beautiful and offbeat scent that straddles the line (at least as far as today's tastes go) between niche and designer appeal. It's not loud but definitely noticeable, which is atypical of many other 90s scents. dior is magical. There are so many things to say about this fragrance. And above it all, a scent of soil and cocoa mixed together. It is rosey-woody, balsamic - but I struggle to describe it technically, because this scent brings so many emotions.

Until today, Dune meant one thing to me: an 80's movie made about a long and confusing book. If dune was a genre of music, it would be classical music.
