When I was a little bitty girl, my first word was I want a horse.
Our biggest day of the week was Monday; rodeo secretaries would phone me at home Sunday nightand I would record the results and Id go to the office and Id bat out a little news release. He was on the Sul Ross NIRA Championship Team in 1982 and competed in team roping, steer wrestling, bull riding and bronc riding.

Snively was the World Champion of the Rodeo Association of America (changed to IRA) in 1954 and won the RCA Championship in 1956.
She joined the Cervi Championship Rodeo Company fulltime in 1979. Bobby was born November 27, 1951, and son, Sid, December 8, 1974, in Austin, Texas.
Mote, then four years old, had completed her first solo barrel racing run at a rodeo in Arizona.

Born December 7, 1954 to Cotton and Linda Rosser in Yuba City, California, she grew up horseback and rodeo has remained her lifes work. He has been a National Finals Rodeo Official for 30 years. Backstrom is the most decorated rodeo secretary in ProRodeo history. He passed away when I was 10 and mother had to sell all the horses except one old stallion. Visitors to the Calgary Stampede Ranch were able to socialize with him before watching him explode into a rodeo arena.

Ardith Bruce, who was born July 22, 1931 and currently resides in Fountain, Colorado, has been a member of the WPRA since 1960, reaching the pinnacle of the sport in 1964 when she won the world title aboard a horse known as Red, registered as Straws Kingwood Snip. After retiring from bull riding in 1972, Nafzger focused his energies on horse training and soon found success in that arena as well.

I did everything from carrying flags, taking care of the saddle horses, secretarying rodeos and even driving a load of bulls through Montana. Ardith was the one to put together a celebration party when Scamper was the first barrel horse to be inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and was once again on hand to see the first WPRA members inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2017.
I have many good memories working in a little red brick building in Denver 50 years ago.

In 1995, she was named the Coca-Cola WPRA Woman of the Year, in 2015 she received the Lenora Reimers Heritage Award through the WPRA and in 2019 was honored with the Tad Lucas Award from the National Cowboy Museum. He entered an elite group when he passed the $3 million earnings mark in 2012. He was the Reserve RCA Champion in 1952 and 1958.
A highlight of her career was competing in the rodeo exhibition during the Cultural Olympiad at the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Alberta, that pitted the United States against Canada. Im not good at this, Im used to being in the background.
I took entries and drew stock in a bar at 13 years old. There was a need for an editor of Rodeo Sports News in early 1976, and Witte was able to also get out the associations paper for the next two years. Both were born in Arizona and became cattle ranchers there. Oh wow, said Bruce upon learning of her induction into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. With a fulltime population of 21,000, this Rodeo City hosts one of the highest paying regular season rodeos, paying out more than $486,000 two years ago. She has also worked the National Finals Rodeo 17 years as secretary, three years as timer, and one year as the office manager.

When the Associations headquarters was moved to Colorado Springs, Bruce was there to help get things up and running. Thomas was a World Champion Steer Roper in 1943, Champion Team Roper in 1944 and World Champion Team Tyer in 1945 and 1946. It all started with my granddad with a rodeo on the ranch in 1927. It is truly a great honor to be in there with some great people.. Bobby Steiner got me to the NFR youre only as good as the company you keep. Bobby and Sid Steiner are the third and fourth generation of legendary rodeo producers Buck and his son Tommy of Steiner Rodeo Company.
