My question is: what should I do with my freshwater tank as we sit in this one spot for the next year? We are still working full-time jobs and have a site at Pellicer Creek Campground in St. Augustine, Florida. Unless I hear that it is not a good idea for some reason, I plan on installing a vent port on the top of the tank and I will use the the water pump port also as a drain port. Air displacement, whether you're filling or draining/pumping, doesn't care where it comes from (or goes to) or which direction it comes from (or goes to) or how many turns it takes. This is helpful! My 25-gallon fresh water tank is under the bed where it abuts the side of the galley cabinet. I plan on using one for my grey/black vent cover up high on the wall. Also shouldn't matter where the vent is located on the tank because it will likely back up from your fill port before your vent (that should rise above your tank). Add a piece of screen/clamp for bugs and u shld be fine. I plan to only use the two fittings on the left side of the photo. I installed a ball valve on the vent line and I close it for travel and open it when filling or using the pump. Kipp. Any advice will be appreciated, both by us, and those poor people behind us. You are using an out of date browser. ), I could always add a tee into the tubing going from the tank to the water pump and place an additional shutoff valve on the extra drain tube coming off the tee. What can I use to clear the clog? I've then used a hose with a "spray gun trigger" sort of end, so I can stop the water flow right when I want to. I'm hoping it's just because it is cheaper to do so!

Muffler is sintered brass so air will pass but bugs can not enter. Best solution is to lift the middle of the tubing to eliminate u-tube formation. Id say, if its cool where you are, then you should be fine letting the water sit. This one is sticking up a bit (right), but the pipe should be at least flush with the vent fixture.
